Before she was a celebrated entrepreneur, instrumental in the founding of the Women Grow Organization, Jane hosted legendary cannabis parties.
These were not your typical get-togethers; they were sophisticated, elevated events that championed the plant and the people who loved it. Exclusive yet accessible, Jane’s events helped set the direction our industry and those who drive it forward would grow.
It was exactly this deep-rooted passion for hosting and creating beautiful experiences that inspired her vision for this collection—a concept for a bong that is as much a part of the decor as it is a functional smoking device. This designer bong is a true reflection of her vision for a new era in cannabis culture.
The Story of a Collaboration
Years ago, Prism's resident bong expert Sam, worked alongside Jane West, to launch her first official glassware collection. Now, these two industry veterans are back together again to bring you something truly unique.
This collaboration is a reunion.
When we set out with Jane to design the Prism x Jane West Twenties MINI Beaker, our goal was to create a bong as timeless as it is forward-thinking. This ethos is at the core of the Art Deco movement, which defined the era we took our aesthetic inspiration from.
However for Jane, the choice to partner with Prism was about more than just aesthetics; it was about the art of hosting. Having overseen countless public consumption cannabis events, she knows that clean glassware is paramount.
“You wouldn’t serve wine to your guests in a dirty glass, and the same principle applies to cannabis.”
Jane recognized Prism’s unique "easiest-to-clean" modular design as a natural fit for the entertainers and hosts she has crafted her line for.
Prism’s modularity also spoke to her emphasis on curating a vibe. With interchangeable glass bong parts, Prism empowers hosts to make same-day adjustments to their setups to suit whatever session lies ahead of them.
From our Sketchbook to your Livingroom
Inspired by vintage glass and the iconic works of designers like René Lalique—who elevated everyday objects with press-molded, diamond-patterned textures—we set out to create a modern echo of that era’s sophistication.
The result is a gridded series of raised diamonds that cover the body of the piece, giving it a rich, tactile, and textural feel that’s as satisfying to hold as it is to behold. To achieve this, we had to break (out) the mold.
The process begins with the careful preparation of long, hollow glass tubes, which are then inserted into specialized casting molds. Air is carefully inflated into the tubes, pushing the glass deep into every nook and cranny of the mold to form the distinctive impression.
This method allows us to capture every detail, including Jane's iconic cursive logo, which is precision-molded onto the back of each piece as an important personal touch.
The Parallels of Prohibition
A century ago, the roaring twenties saw a cultural revolution fueled by defiance, with hidden speakeasies and elegant art deco designs symbolizing a rebellion against the norm.
We're seeing a similar shift today as cannabis emerges from the shadows. The Prism x Jane West Twenties MINI Beaker is a modern echo of that spirit—a design born from the same desire to turn something once forbidden into a symbol of refined taste and freedom.
