Staying Connected:
Everything You Need to Know About Prism's Halo Connectors
(& Two New Releases!)
What is a Prism Halo Connector?
The Prism Halo Connector is the threaded component that securely joins the interchangeable glass sections of a Prism modular bong. Its metal exterior, threaded interior, and food-grade silicone gasket create an airtight and watertight connection between the base, mouthpiece, and optional percolators.
Why Threaded Connectors Work for Modular Bongs:
To Switch it Up!
Threaded connectors work especially well for modular bongs because they create a secure, consistent connection between each section while still allowing the parts to twist apart by hand. Compared to a simple clamp, a threaded design helps keep the glass pieces aligned and applies even pressure around the connection point. That makes each section easier to remove, clean, replace, or swap without tools. It also supports more customizable builds, including adding percolators between the base and mouthpiece, so the setup can evolve without sacrificing stability.
Halos and gaskets can also be replaced individually, so a worn or misplaced connector component does not mean replacing an entire glass section.
Why Does the Halo Connector Have a Metal Exterior?
(Spoiler: It works best)
Metal became the natural choice for Prism’s Halo because it can handle the realities of a modular setup. It withstands repeated exposure to water, holds up to frequent assembly and disassembly, and gives the threaded interior a strong, rigid outer structure. Unlike unfinished or moisture-sensitive materials (like wood), the metal exterior will not swell or warp from normal water exposure. It also gives us more room to play with color, finish, and design, while creating a clean visual transition between each glass section!
What's Inside a Prism Halo Connector?
The metal exterior:
Provides the rigid outer structure and gives each Halo its visible finish.
Dual-threaded interior:
Allows the glass sections above and below the Halo to twist securely into place.
Food-grade silicone gasket:
Sits across the center of the threaded interior to create an airtight and watertight seal. It also prevents the adjoining glass sections from pressing directly against each other.

Prism Halo Sizes
MINI glass components are only compatible with MINI Halos, while Standard glass components require Standard Halos.
MINI and Standard Halo systems are not interchangeable.
Standard setups can use multiple Halos to add modular percolators, creating Single, Double, or Triple Stack configurations.
From Clamps to Threads:
How the Prism Halo has Changed
From the very beginning, Prism has been built around the concept of modular glass. Our earliest designs already separated the mouthpiece from the base, but those pieces used to be connected with a quick-release clamp.
The original setup used non-threaded glass, with the clamp applying pressure around the connection point. A rubber gasket sat between the pieces to help create a tight seal and to keep the glass from touching directly. It was functional, but it was only the first step toward the cleaner, more customizable system Prism uses today.
Modular glass brands have approached interchangeable pieces in several ways, including clamps, friction-fit connections, and threaded hardware. Prism chose to upgrade to a threaded system because it provides a secure connection while still allowing each section to be removed by hand.
After the clamp design, Prism also moved to threaded glass that screws directly into the Halo connector. The gasket remained part of the system, but it evolved into a thin silicone one placed in-between the top and bottom threads of the halo. This continues to prevent direct glass-on-glass contact. These updates made the connection more secure overall and made our pieces easier to take apart (which really matters for a bong designed for easy cleaning and part swaps)!
A Halo For Every Build:
All Available Colors
The Halo may be functional, but it has always been one of the easiest ways to change the personality of a Prism setup.
Every Halo color is available in both MINI and Standard sizes, so you can coordinate your connector with your glass, create contrast, or add a bold accent between each modular section.
The Prism Halos Are Available In:
