Skull Collection
by Tommy Devoid
Skelton quotes x Tommy Devoid
"If I were a bird, I know exactly who I would shit on"
"Birth. What the fuck is this? Death"
" I want to be nice, but then people happen"
"Today is a new day to enjoy life, alone, inside, and away from people"
"Cloudy with a 100% chance of fuck this"
"Hello, is this hell? Great. I'm calling to confirm my reservations."
💀"BUT SERIOUSLY THOUGH"💀
So we have all of you to thank for introducing us to Tommy Devoid and his sardonic skeletons designs. If you have not checked out his IG yet, you 100% should. You are in for a solid goth smirk from his dark gritty jokes that are pretty ghastly at times. At Prism this is exactly what we thought we needed design wise in our line up. We've basically given you flowers, rainbows, and butterflies the last few releases and wanted to do something a little darker. So that's where Tommy came in and we feel damn lucky he was down to work with us because he's pretty talented.
As for how this exact design came into play. Well it was pretty straight forward. We said give us a sea of skulls and maybe a beating heart. We thought going with a full skeleton figure might be lost on the shape of the glass and a large pattern that wrapped around the glass might be visually better. So Tommy mixed it up a little with varying creepy face expressions and had the brilliant idea for the light gray cracking glass effect.
The Tommy Devoid Skull Collection allows you to customize your rig with a motif of skulls in a variety of ghastly expressions, and a signature "cracking glass" effect designed to freak you out. Don't worry—it’s just a visual trick!
These light gray fractures are permanently kiln-fired into the borosilicate glass, so while they look like weathered, shattered glass from the afterlife, they are perfectly smooth to the touch and structurally sound. And for the centerpiece? A creepy-ass skull hand quenching a red beating heart ripped straight out of a cow. Just kidding—it’s actually just your ex’s heart.
Who's behind this artwork?
So who's this Tommy Devoid you ask? Well, Mr. Devoid is a self taught artist based out of Pittsburg, PA. He started as a pen and ink artist, and eventually expanded into the world of digital media. He has gained popularity in recent years for his uniquely vivid colorful skeleton creations in combination with his dark and at times ghastly sense of humor.
Not only can you purchase his artwork on our pieces, but he has also expanded to products like skateboards, phone cases, prints, clothing, home goods, etc. Basically, you should check out his Teepublic page for some of the finest skulls and skeletons out there.
Lastly, if you like comics, Tommy is your man. He is the creator of Never Been Deader that tells daily tales of Lifeless Carl as he "reluctantly journeys through the afterlife. Most of Carl’s time is spent in the offices of Afterlife Industries, where he works in the Department of Intake for the recently deceased. He is joined by his dead colleagues, who are equally reluctant to be there but are always ready to complain about their jobs over some coffee."
Which glass colors enhance the "creepy" factor of the Tommy Devoid decals?
While these decals look sharp on solid black or white, the Prism team recommends Translucent colors (like Translucent Black, Blue, or Green) when customizing on the 3D Custom Bong Builder. This creates a "haunted" effect where you can watch the smoke rise and swirl behind the sea of skulls and the "cracking glass" pattern. Pairing these with a Red Halo creates a striking contrast against the red beating heart motif found in the collection.
Can I combine the Skull Collection with other Prism designs?
The answer is: Absolutely!
One of the best ways to use the 3D Custom Bong Builder is to "cross-pollinate" different aesthetics.
While the Tommy Devoid Skull Collection is dark and gritty, many users pair a "Sea of Skulls" base with a Blood Red Halo and a Midnight Black Mouthpiece for a minimalist "memento mori" look. Because our system is modular, you can even swap in a DoodleByMeg Flower Power Percolator if you want to create a "Life vs. Death" contrast.
The kiln-fired decals on every piece ensure that no matter how you mix them, the artwork remains permanent and professional.
