The Prism x Milkyway Glass Collab:
SKULLIANCE Joins the Ranks!
A while back, we connected with a glass company that inspires us, Milkyway Glass, to design something truly special. This collaboration began with a limited edition line of tall mouthpieces that were made with etched glass as opposed to Prism's usual kiln-fired decal method. The first design was called "Spaced Out Odyssey" and sold out quickly last year!

In their own words:
“To us, sandblasting embodies grace…”
Founded over 10 years ago, the founders of Milkyway Glass formed their company out of a desire to highlight glass customization methods that are typically reserved for luxury products. In that time, they have become truly notable for bringing glass etching to the masses!
Like circuitry? Like Y2K aesthetics? Like Aliens? Thugged Out Cherubs? Psychedelic Textures?
No matter what probes your imagination, they’ve got it! It was this variety that led us to spark something up, together.

The New SKULLIANCE Designs:
How did they come to be?
The SKULLIANCE collection was inspired by Prism's original skull collection, one of our boldest and most recognizable decal designs. For this collaboration with Milkyway Glass, we wanted to create something that could pair with existing skull setups while brining a fresh, limited-edition twist to the lineup.
Shop the SKULLIANCE collection before it's gone-- once this drop sells out, it won't be back.
Etching vs. Decals:
You may be familiar with “decals-- those little sticker-looking designs that can be applied to all of our products. When applying Prism decals to bongs, we bake them at high temperatures in a kiln overnight to allow for the design to completely fuse with the glass. While we do love our decals, we were also looking to shake things up a bit. That’s where etching comes in.
Glass etching, which is used in a variety of different industries, utilizes highly pressurized sand and rigid stencils in order to physically carve away a design from borosilicate glass! This technique is unique in the sense that rather than adding more materials to your setup, we’re actually removing glass to create the design. Fear not, etching into borosilicate glass in no way weakens it! When looking for THICK glass, etched glass is often a great sign.
So, How Does Milkyway Add Color to Etched Glass?
The answer is glass frit. The color on these Milkyway x Prism etched glass mouthpieces isn’t painted on, sprayed, or coated. It is colored glass fused into the piece itself!
Frit is crushed colored glass that gets applied during the glassmaking process. The artist heats the glass, adds the frit, then melts it into the surface so the color becomes part of the glass. That’s what gives each SKULLIANCE piece its layered, dimensional look — with color that feels built into the design, not sitting on top of it.
This process is part of what makes Milkyway Glass pieces so unique. The etched artwork adds texture and contrast, while the frit color brings depth, movement, and a one-of-a-kind finish to the glass.
