How to Clean Your Bong

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BONG

We all know the smell. We know it, you know it - the sweet stench of good rips past. However, that stank has to be dealt with at some point, and we can help you keep those good times rolling with a squeakyclean bong. How often you decide toclean your bong can vary from person to person, depending on the amount of use. We recommend cleaning it every 1 - 2 days, but you really can’t over-clean yourcustom bong, ESPECIALLY when it comes apart. So let’s have at it with those cleaning tips!

OUR FAVORITE METHOD: ALCOHOL AND SALT

This is a true classic - the no frills, nothin’ fancy, solid go-to method. We still think this is the best way to go whencleaning your bong due to the fact that it works (duh), but also uses items you most likely have in your house. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• 91% or 99% Isopropyl Alcohol
• Coarse Salt (Rock salt or Epsom Salt will do)

Once you have your alcohol and salt, remove all the removable pieces from yourcustom bong (downstem, bowl, percolator, clamp, etc.), then fill the base of thebongwith about ½ cup of alcohol (more or less depending on the size of yourbong), then add about a teaspoon of salt. The salt will act as an abrasive object to give that sticky-icky gunk a little kick in its arse. The fact that you have acustomizable and modular bong will make this process super quick and easy! Use your finger or hand to plug up any holes and shake that baby up really well and for about five minutes. If you don’t want to use your finger or palm of your hand, there are some great products out there made specifically for capping the open ends of yourbong! Once you’re all out of breath and sweaty from your shake sesh, dump that stinky crap out and rinse really well with water. You can repeat this method for all individual pieces of your custom bong. However, one good trick for cleaning yourbowl and downstem is to grab a zip lock baggie, fill it with all the cleaning ingredients along with the glass, and give it a little shake. Then Wa-Lah, your glass is the squeakiest of clean!

PRE-MADE SOLUTION

Another option to clean yourcustom bong with is using a pre-made solution. Our favorite is Formula 420 (Buy it Here!). Not only does it work great, but it's alsonon-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for glass, ceramic, and metal. You essentially follow the same steps from above, but just with their solution.

VINEGAR AND RICE

If you’re in a pinch and don’t have alcohol or salt (pandemic, amiright?), but really need aclean bong rip (again, pandemic, amiright?) you can also use vinegar and rice instead. We still prefer alcohol and salt, because the vinegar smell can linger a bit, but if you’re from Philly like us, and don't mind that hoagie smell, go for it. It will surely do the trick! 

LAST INSIDER TIPS!

One more insider tip for those of you with an extra stinkybong (you know who you are). Changing out your water between each use will help with not creating extra stink and obviously give you nicer rips. Luckily this is super easy to do now that you have acustom bong. AND after you finishcleaning your bong, you can do a quick rinse or soak in some diluted (or not) mouthwash for some extra minty fresh aroma. Always remember to rinse out the piece really well with water afterwards and make sure yourbong is totally dry before reassembling it with the clamps so it does not slide around! The mouthwash is not necessary by any means, but who doesn’t like some minty fresh vibes in their life?
