The Honeycomb Base is the smaller of the two honeycomb options within the Prism custom bong fam. It’s designed with two parallel honeycombs in the base with a fixed downstem for extra filtration and a super smooth milky pull. The size of it paired with the function and a bent mouthpiece, makes it perfect for those looking for a dabbing option. Lastly, it comes with an 18mm bowl.

Although Prism’s bongs can all be customized, meaning you can always change the base at a later date, you may be asking yourself which base you should choose outside the obvious factor of preferred aesthetics. Below are some notes as to why one would choose each base Prism offers.
Starting with our most popular bong base, the Beaker Base and the OG of bongs. Their shape originates from the borosilicate glass erlenmeyer flask commonly used in chemistry. The conical shape provides a grounded aesthetic and gives the piece a lot of weight at the bottom making it less likely to tip over. The water depth can also be increased drastically by tipping the beak back as is commonly done when smoking. This adds to filtration provided by the beaker bong.
Beakers are also very easy to clean. With a Prism Beaker, you can clean your custom bong by using a scrub brush and some soap and water. Prism beakers are by far the easiest to clean on the market.
Prism’s Big Honeycomb Base is our premier base for function/filtration. This base functions really well due to its two large honeycomb percolators and inline percolator at the fixed stem to distribute the smoke evenly under the honeycombs. Any custom bong with a Big Honeycomb Base will pull extremely smooth and filter the smoke the best.
Big Honeycomb Bases are also our largest base, so they ground the overall aesthetic of the bong. The larger glass diameter centers the glass low and the large foot adds for quite a bit of stability. These bases are also quite tall, coming in at 7 ½”, so a custom bong with a Big Honeycomb Base will be a good size from the get go.
As far as cleaning goes, this base is a little more difficult to clean compared to the Beaker Base. However, the water level makes it so the dirtiest area (the top layer above the last honeycomb) is easily cleaned with a scrub brush. If you need to clean the other areas of the base, we highly recommend you use a bong cleaning solution, or rubbing alcohol and salt. Be sure to rinse well before your next use if you do this.
Prism’s Standard Honeycomb Base is made for smaller custom bongs. Not everyone likes a massive bong and Prism wanted to be sure to offer a smaller glass base packing a lot of punch. The double honeycombs and smaller tube cause this base to chugg super well. Because bongs with our Standard Honeycomb Base offer great function at a smaller size, they are great for smoking concentrates. Pair this base with a Bent Mouthpiece and you have an absolutely excellent rig for concentrates.
Although this base is not as easy to clean as the beaker base, for a custom bong, it is still very very easy to clean. You can take a scrub brush to the top section for quick cleans, and then break out the cleaning solution and or alcohol for a deeper clean.
No matter which base you choose, we promise you will absolutely love your custom bong. Keep in mind, you may want a base for function, a daily driver that’s easy to clean, and a base for concentrates. Prism offers bases that meet all these needs.
